Decarbonizing Shipping Confrence

Shipping’s decarbonization at a crossroads

Meet and get inspired by the most influential companies and stakeholders who shape and drive the decarbonization of the global shipping industry.

Mærsk, MAN Energy Solutions, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Transport & Environment are already on the list of speakers which is being put together.

ShippingWatch’s next decarbonization conference takes place in Copenhagen, 22 May 2024, and is kicked off a time when the industry finds itself at crossroads with a myriad of pathways to pursue in their efforts to turn green.

The one-day conference provides a unique opportunity to learn how standard-setting carriers, operators, engine makers, bunker companies and customers contribute to the decarbonization of shipping – through new technologies, new fuels and new strategies.

Efforts to curb emissions have taken an important leap forward with the entry into force of IMO’s Carbon Intensity Indicator, the CII regulation and EU’s ETS system, requiring the industry to purchase allowances to cover its CO2-emissions.

Learn how carriers deal with the latest greenhouse gas regulations, whether if customers are willing to pay for green transportation –if and when the fuels producers are able to deliver. And how the IMO is progressing with the next major steps to implement a global set of rules.

ShippingWatch conducts a series of annual conferences towards 2030 taking stock of how the decarbonization of the shipping industry evolves.

The first conference was held in September 2021.
